Ordinary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, 1-5 October 2012
Strasbourg - The last part of this year's Ordinary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be held in Strasbourg from 1-5 October 2012.
Members of the Parliamentary Assembly will discuss various important issues, among others the honoring of obligations and commitments by the Russian Federation, the report on the definition of the political prisoner, activities of the OECD in 2011 and 2012, human rights and foreign policy and various other reports. As may be foreseen, the representatives will discuss also the Safarov case and the European response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria (both proposals will be decided at the plenary adoption of the agenda).
The PACE will be addressed by the following Excellencies: the President of Moldova Mr. Nicolae Timofti, the President of Albania Mr. Bujar Nishani, the Foreign Minister of Albania Mr. Edmond Panariti and the OECD Secretary General Mr. Angel Gurria. During the Session the election of judges from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Moldova and the Russian Federation to the European Court of Human Rights will be held.
The Session will be also attended by the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.
