123rd session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
Strasbourg - the 123rd session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will take place in Strasbourg on Thursday, 16 May. The Committee of Ministers is the Council of Europe's decision-making body and meets at ministerial level once a year. Slovenia will be represented by Dragoljuba Benčina, Director-General for Global issues and multilateral political relations.
Theme of this year’s ministerial session is “Democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in Europe: strengthening the impact of the Council of Europe’s activities”. Among others, the policy of the Council of Europe towards neighboring regions and co-operation with the European Union will be discussed at the session.
The outgoing Andorran Chairmanship will officially hand over its powers to the incoming Armenian Chairmanship that will chair the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the next six months.
