Transfer of the Committee of Ministers' Chairmanship from Armenia to Austria – 14th November 2013

Strasbourg – At the 1184th meeting of the Committee of Ministers' Deputies in Strasbourg, on 14th November 2013, the Committee of Ministers' Chairmanship was transferred from Armenia to Austria.

The prime focus of Austrian Chairmanship will be on freedom of expression and the safety of journalists. Other priorities of Austrian Chairmanship will be: action against trafficking in human beings, internet governance, gender equality, human rights of persons with disabilities, quality education, education for democratic citizenship, governance of culture, as well as democracy and governance at the regional and local level.

The transfer of the chairmanship was attended by Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian and Austrian foreign minister Michael Spindelegger.
