124th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Vienna
Vienna, 6 May 2014 – 124th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe is taking place in Vienna. The Ministers of 47 Members States are dealing with current challenges related to Council of Europe values and stability in Europe. The first annual report by the Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland on the State of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Europe will be presented. The Ministers will pay special attention to the current crisis in Europe, particularly in Ukraine.
The meeting is chaired by Sebastian Kurz, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Austria and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers. Following the session, Austria will hand over the 6-month chairmanship to Azerbaijan.
Slovenia is represented by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Benko.
The Ministerial Session began with marking the 65th anniversary of the Council of Europe.
