World Forum for Democracy, 3 - 5 November 2014

Strasbourg - The third World Forum for Democracy will take place in Strasbourg from the 3th to the 5th of November 2014, organized by the Council of Europe, the French government, the Alsace Region and the City of Strasbourg.

This year’s theme is ''From participation to influence: can youth revitalise democracy?''.

The Forum will bring together 1200 participants from 80 countries, among them civil society activists, elected representatives, political leaders and representatives of the media. They will discuss civil and political rights of young people and new forms of democratic participation.

The Forum will be opened by Harlem Désir, the French Minister for European Affairs, and Jeremy Rifkin, President of the Foundation on Economic Trends.

At the same time the City of Strasbourg will organize many public events.
