Spring Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, 20th – 24th of April 2015
Strasbourg – The spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is taking place from 20 to 24 April 2015 in Strasbourg. The Assembly is debating the political and security situation in Ukraine, mass surveillance, the humanitarian consequences of the actions of the terrorist group known as "Islamic State", discrimination against transgender people in Europe, and other current issues. The Parliamentary Assembly will be addressed by His Majesty the King of Belgians, the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers and Belgian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and the Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Liberties of Malta. The Secretary General of the Council of Europe will answer the questions of the Parliamentarians, and the Commissioner for Human Rights will present his 2014 Annual activity report. Election of judges to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Andorra, Austria, Finland, Ireland, Liechtenstein and Monaco is also on the agenda. The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Slovenia will attend the session: chairperson Ms. Ksenija Korenjak Kramar, Mr. Andrej Šircelj in Mr. Matjaž Hanžek.
