Decision to endorse the proposal of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) to reform the Organisation
At their 1,083rd meeting on 21st April, the Ministers' Deputies unanimously decided to endorse the proposal of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) to reform the Organisation. The reform aims to adjust the Organisation to the new situation in the international community, including reforms in the financial field. The decision will enable adjustment of the CoE field mission in 2011 to a new system with only two levels of representation (CoE offices and CoE liaison offices). The CoE Member States have thus decided to close by the end of 2011 the existing information offices in all Member States, including the Information Office in Ljubljana.
Although Slovenia was committed to maintaining the system of offices, it intends, together with the CoE Secretariat, to find a solution for the continuation of the work of the Information Office in Ljubljana.
