Ambassador Bergant pays courtesy call to Commissioner for Human Rights Hammarberg
Strasbourg, 10 May 2010 – On 5 May 2010, Ambassador Damjan Bergant paid a courtesy call to the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Thomas Hammarberg, emphasizing Slovenia's firm commitment to the protection of human rights. Well acquainted with Slovenia’s endeavours in this area, Commissioner Hammarberg positively assessed Slovenia's concern for the rights of the child, mentioning the successful conference hosted by Slovenia in 2009. He also expressed interest in the situation of the erased and Roma in Slovenia. Ambassador Bergant and Commissioner Hammarberg spoke in favour of further strengthening cooperation in all fields relating to human rights.
