On 27 May 2010, the Protocol to the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters, whose custodians are the OECD and the Council of Europe, was opened for signature at OECD headquarters in Paris. The Minister of Finance, Franc Križanič, signed the Convention and its Protocol on behalf of Slovenia. The purpose of the two texts is to help governments better implement their tax laws and combat cross-border tax evasion.
The signing took place on the margins of the regular Ministerial Session of the OECD in Paris. A ceremonial session was held, during which Slovenia, Estonia and Israel were invited to join the OECD.
