Slovenia signed the Third Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Extradition, 10 November 2010
Strasbourg - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the Council of Europe Ambassador Damjan Bergant signed the Third Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Extradition (ETS No 24). The Protocol supplements the Convention in certain aspects in order to simplify and accelerate the extradition procedure when the person sought consents to extradition.
The Protocol was adopted by the Committee of Ministers at its 1090th meeting on 7 July 2010. Opening for signature ceremony was held on the day of the transfer of the Committee of Ministers’ chairmanship between Macedonia and Turkey. Slovenia signed the Protocol among the first member states.
Slovenia ratified the European Convention on Extradition in 1994, while it entered info force for Slovenia in 1995. The Convention was prepared within the Council of Europe in 1957.
